National Youth Gathering

2010 National Lutheran Youth Gathering
New Orleans, LA

Allison attended this wonderful gathering with 25,000 others. These are her friends and roomates, Amy and Angela. Together they made the "Three A(s)". She had an amazing time including many trips to Cafe DuMonde for Beignets. But mostly, she was able to connect with the theme "We Believe" and examine her beliefs in Jesus. At the last minute, I was able to attend the gathering as well because my Godson had an adult who could not attend. It was my 7th youth gathering and every one of them a blessing.

16 and driving

Ok, so she is now 16 and has her driver's license and a car. The car was a gift from a lady from St. Paul who gifted it to Allison before her death. We are blessed! Carol, we will forever be thankful.

Locks of Love - Aunt Lindy

So she did it again. Allison cut off her hair for Locks of Love so that a cancer patient in need of a wig gets a beautiful blonde one. Here she is holding 4 ponytails of hair. Allison's 3 and 4 year old preschool teacher, and our wonderful friend, Linda, fought the cancer fight so Allison grows her hair out and cuts it in memory of Linda. So I asked her if she is planning on doing again and she said she will do it over and over again. Linda, we love you and miss you.

Watching the Detroit Tigers

We were able to see the Detroit Tigers play the Atlanta Braves in Spring Training at the Disney Wide World of Sports. The Tigers lost but it was a beautiful sunny day and we sat on the lawn and enjoyed our hometown team.

The Disney Classic

Allison scopes out the courts at the ESPN Wide World of Sports center at Disney World. It was an amazing experience to play volleyball at such a fun venue.

Reffing

Part of the club volleyball season includes being the down ref. Pro- fessionals do the up reffing (makes most of the calls). Allison prefers to do the official book but this time took her turn and being the down ref.

Doing what she loves to do!

A beautiful tip! Allison takes great joy in playing volleyball and making great plays. Unfortunately, volleyball has become a tall girl's sport but she plays hard. You just have to look at her knees and elbows to see that. She got a perfect pancake at the Ft. Lauderdale tournament last weekend leading to an important point. Great job, Allison. Now on to the Disney Classic!

Mark, Terrie and Troy

My big brother and part of his family. I guess Allison just didn't get the height gene.

Allison and Cousin Troy

We met up with my brother Mark, Terrie and Troy for dinner one night. Allison and Troy have not seen each other for years. It was nice getting caught up on their lives.

One of the many sweet 16 parties

Wow!

When I opened this picture all I could say was "wow!". This is her head shot for the Tribe Volleyball Club website. Amazing. That amazing blonde hair is growing out so that she can again get it cut for Locks for Love for wigs for cancer patients. Beautiful and big hearted!

What's so funny, Allison? She is playing for a club called Tribe.

Allison is the short one though she plays with everything she has. She never gives up.

A new volleyball season

It's a new club volleyball season. A dad on the team is a great picture taker so there will be a lot of updates. I thought I would post this one to show you that Allison looks nothing like her mommy and everything like her daddy.

Two of my Godsons

I have 3 wonderful Godsons and 1 Goddaughter. Here are two of them, Roby and Chad. I am also the proud Godmother of my nephew Chad and a friend, Leah. I keep them in my prayers daily and know that they are all growing up in Christian homes by wonderful parents. It is too bad that Chad is wearing an ugly t-shirt in this picture.

New York City

Allison just returned from a weekend trip to New York City. She was very fortunate that a friend of mine from FAU took her for the weekend. The saw 4 Broadway productions and snow! They both had a great time! As for me? I stayed home to take care of dogs and grade papers. The last time we were in NYC were with our wonderful friends Linda and Shari, and that was only for a few hours.

Halloween

Getting ready to Trick or Treat. Allison went with friends and Finnegan had door duty. It's a hot Halloween though we are thankful because a few years ago we didn't have power and had to Trick or Treat at the mall with what seemed like a million other people. That was after Hurricane Wilma.

Finnegan

Powderpuff Football

So the sophomores lost to the Juniors but they had fun losing. As I sat in the stands watching the game and Allison running down the football field I couldn't help thinking about the smiles that would have been on Larry's face seeing her play football.
