First Day of Senior Year

It is hard to believe but Allison is a senior.

Our trip to the Keys

Great friends invited us to spend some time in the Keys and even let Finnegan come along. We sent the days on the boat and hanging out at the sand bar. Now I could live like this! Thank you Debbie, for the invite.

A view from the house. Now I could wake up to this every morning.

Oklahoma

Allison was able to be part of a wonderful high school production of Oklahoma. She had a wonderful time but was exhausted at the end. Boca High does amazing plays.

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

For Allison's spring break we took a road trip around Florida to look at schools she is interested in. We have also looked at the University of Miami and University of South Florida. She made a pro/con list for each one and has placed them in order of preference. The good thing is that she has some time to process this before the applications have to be made. I can't believe that my baby is going to be a senior in 3 months.

A perfect 6!

Allison received a notice to report to the football field to meet with the principal for 5th period. Several of her friends also received a notice. When they arrived, they found out it was an opportunity to celebrate those students who received a perfect score on their FCAT Writes. They received these shirts with Bobcats on the front and a 6 on the back. She also received $75. Allison also had a perfect score on FCAT Reading. Great job, Allison.

Senator Roby Smith

This picture moves me to tears every time I look at it. This is my Godson, Roby Smith, as he is being sworn in to the Iowa State Senate. He is a solid, Christian man whose heart desires to serve. I was able to help him campaign for his primary in June and then for the general election in November. He gave me a wonderful birthday gift and won his senate seat on my birthday. In January, Allison and I flew to Des Moines to witness the swearing in. Roby gave me an honorable seat on the senate floor. I was so moved by the entire weekend and Allison was impressed by the events. We had a wonderful time with Roby's entire family and Kari's sisters and their families. And, we had snow that slowed down our travel plans back home as we had to spend the night in the Dallas airport. Nothing, at that point, could dappen our spirits.

I hate heights!

Roby thinks it is very funny that I am terrified of heights and we are on the top of the Iowa Capitol building. He is pulling me away from the wall and laughing. Roby!!!!!!!!
